Aloha! I'm Iben Dwight, owner of Weddings Hawaii. Born and raised in Denmark, I traveled to Kauai in 1994 to be an Au Pair (nanny). While on Kauai I met Gelston Dwight, a local photographer. We fell in love. For 3 years we bounced between Hawaii and Europe, until we decided to get married and make Kauai our home. We have two children, Malina (11 years old) and Makai (5 years old).
In 1998 we started Weddings Hawaii. I have successfully coordinated over 400 Hawaii weddings. My attention to detail, organization, and local knowledge will take the stress and confusion out of planning a wedding here on Kauai.

The Pu is the traditional shell trumpet of Hawaii used to announce the arrival of personages or to gather people for special events. The pu is a popular commencement tool at weddings and also have been used to honor royalty and famous people.
The tone is deep in large shells and shrill in small ones. When blown, the resulting sound may carry as far as two miles.
The next time you’re waiting for a ceremony to begin, just listen for the conch shell

Andrea wanted a dress that would be comfortable on the beach, being that Andrea is from Germany, there weren't too many beach options available. So Andrea contacted her Aunt who was able to customize her dress to make it a one of a kind wedding dress, perfect for a beach wedding on Kauai.
